The Year 2 Studios are busy as all four pathways commence Advanced Skills Bootcamp for five weeks of the new semester. Developing and exploring pathway specific specialist areas is the focus of these projects and workshops before we progress onto more collaborative projects later in the year.
In the Graphic Design pathway students began by exploring Type Design starting with developing Modular type design to deepen understanding of the letterform; using a found grid to sketch and extract or develop elements with which to form 26 coherent characters. These ideas and sketches were then subject to a very useful and busy peer assessment session identifying common problems and exciting ideas within everyone’s work.
