We’ve picked out a few submissions from the 1st year, brief 1, crits. The aim of the project is to develop good visual research skills. The students pick a subject and then collect and record their investigations over a 3 week period.

In order of appearance 1 row per student: Zahra Warsame’s organ trading project is a great example of visual and textual exploration. Rebecca Hopkins was also concerned with the body but investigating viruses. Ki Yeung’s witty and detailed project was titled ‘A Place I go Everyday’. William Allen’s drawing and photographic research was inspired by domestic architecture. Judy Tattersall took an in-depth historical perspective on the East End of London. Claire Drinkwater’s sketchbook work and fascinating collection of objects explored the visual language of maps. Finally, Sacha Spode dissected the heart as both an organ and metaphor. Well done to all of you!! A great start to the year.
