Global Media Management students have started a Chinese film society. This is led by Hana Miao Wanxin & poster design by Sunny Winyangoon of MACD pathway.
The aim of this society is to encourage learning and seeing Chinese culture through films. There is no ONE ‘Chinese culture’. There are many languages, humour, traditions, foods, religions, fashions, and peoples so in fact, there are many different kinds of ‘Chinese culture’. We think that film, as popular global media form, is the perfect way to show off the richness and plurality of Chinese culture.
Tuesday, 26 november, in LTA, 4:30pm (WITH FREE POPCORN).
The film: “Still life” is Chosen by “Les Cahiers du cinéma” as one of the 10 best pictures of 2007. It is directed by a famous Chinese director, Zhangke Jia. Chinese with English subtitles.
