Over the last ten years, BA Graphic Arts Programme Leader, Derek Yates, has developed an ongoing relationship with London based branding consultants, Bear. As a result, last year our students worked on a project that led to three of them being offered 6 week work placements at the company. This year Bear challenged our current year 3 students to create a branding concept for a business that would market the benefits of honey and bee-keeping.

On 1st of December students presented their proposals to Design Director, Roberto D’Andria and the outcomes were of such as high standard that ten students were selected to take the project further and present work at Bear’s studios in London. Roberto was so impressed that a few days after the presentations he took the time to send Derek a very complimentary Email, here is an extract of what he wrote: “Both myself and (senior designer, Andy Goode) left Winchester feeling really heartened by the response to the brief we set. We couldn’t believe the standard of a couple of students in particular but, more importantly, it was the strength in depth that really impressed us, you guys should be really proud.”
