As part of our ‘Insights from the Field’ professional practice programme we recently welcomed ‘Crowd Talks.

‘Crowd Talks hosts design discussion events across the UK, bringing together students, graduates and practitioners to debate contemporary design issues.

By inviting a panel of creatives to start a discussion, Crowd aims to break away from a traditional lecture format and encourage informal open debate between the panel and the audience.’

We asked them to create a discussion around ‘Employability’ and what this means to a creative graduate in 2015. At 9.30 on Wednesday 28th October in LTA, Crowd Talks introduced their work. We then moved up to Studio 3025 for a collaborative post noting exercise that set the parameters for a panel discussion.

There was lots of great discussion both in 3025 and on social media via our two hashtags – #workit & #insightsfield. Missie Elliot provided the soundtrack as students post-it noted their post graduation concerns, examined solutions in a lively panel discussion before working with Roz & Laura from Crowd Talks to create a 16 page publication that provides a record of the day.
