Year 1 Graphic Design Students had a series of workshops exploring organisational structures. The workshop was initiated to kick start a forthcoming information design project set by Maaike Van Neck from mwmcreative. The day started with students arranging and organising themselves according to colour of clothing and body heights. Then, working in small group’s students considered a system to classify objects they were asked to bring into the studio. The end result consisted of a large information system containing 400 objects. Studio based workshops generally happen every week within the first year and are key learning activities to support assessed project work.
