Today we had a successful and busy expedition to the capital. Starting at the V&A, we encountered memory palace, an exhibition based on a dystopian future where memory has been banned. The story forms the spine of the exhibition where invited designers had to respond on this dilemma. Being at the V&A we had a peek into photographic fictions, illustration awards and a lunchtime lecture on comics and the American identity.

Students were set free on the capital for the afternoon. We joined them to the media space in the science museum for the Tony Ray-Jones and Martin Parr exhibition, seeing how we English enjoyed our leisure time in the sixties and seventies. We moved on to the David Zwirner gallery to admire the work of DiCorcia. A big impression was left by these high end cinematic narratives and showed us a contrasting approach to the work in the media space.

We finished the day with the inspiring work of Gerald Cinamon at the ICA. An influential book designer who set the way for use of type and the influence of Swiss graphic design in the UK.

Enjoy the pictures, I you find Elvis, you get a free handshake!
